Primatologen in discussie: Nederland en Japan

Human Robot Evolution

  • Insight in the evolution of human cognition can be obtained through researching apes. 
  • Only humans have emotions.
  • In Japan, robots have a soul. 

These and more theses will be discussed by the Japanese and Dutch primatologists Tetsuro Matsuzawa and Jan van Hooff in the special ambience of the Leiden SieboldHuis. 

The discussion evening welcomes a broad and interested public and will take place on March 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Rapenburg 19 in Leiden. Although access to the event is free, a ticket is required as the museum will be open especially for this event (5:30 to 7:00 p.m.). A ticket can be bought online (€ 8,- for one adult) or at the entrance.

This event is in cooperation with the Cognition, Behavior & Evolution Network in the Low Countries The Cognition, Behavior & Evolution Network (CBEN) unites scholars working in the fields of evolutionary psychology, behavioral ecology, human biology, primatology, and cultural evolution. 

The aim of CBEN is to facilitate research and education in relation to the evolution of cognition and behavior. Its basis is in The Netherlands and Belgium but we invite scholars from other countries to join us.
