Description
From a set of Chūshingura scenes in the mameban (literally 'bean print') format. It is rendered completely in various shades blue, a printing technique known as aizuri-e ('blue printed picture'). A full-colour set recorded in the Ritsumeikan University Ukiyo-e Database has one print with a censor seal that similar to those used in the 1800s and 1810s.
